Check out the new face of Amsterdam fashion - Maud Claessens. She was scouted and discovered by PETER KALB at BM Model Management in Rotterdam when she was only 14.  This past July 2013 for Amsterdam Fashion Week SS14 she was the official “face” and her face repped fashion week in the AFW banner.  Back in January 2013 she closed the Marga Weimans show.  At only 16 years old now we are confident she has an amazing future in the fashion world.

Jean Paul Gaultier also was impressed with her beauty and happily is sending her clothing as is up and coming Lucia Russo.

Check out her interview and stunning photos from one of Amsterdam’s top fashion photographers Giusy de Ceglia.

1- WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MODEL?
At first I never thought I could pursue a modeling career. But then I met Peter Kalb and he asked me to become one of his models. So actually, he’s the one who inspired me to become one.

2- WHAT WAS THE FIRST JOB YOU EVER TOOK?
I was booked for the very first time just a week after I got signed atBMMM. It was a shoot for the famous B-Academy. I was really nervous and those photos did not turn out to be the best in my portfolio.

3- WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF MODELING?
To me, the most exciting part of modeling is when I get to walk on the runway and realize everybody is looking at me. It gives me so much energy. That’s when I know I want to keep doing this for the rest of my life.

4- WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB?
My dream job would be walking in one of Jean Paul Gaultier’s stunning shows, Chanel’s beautiful ones or becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

5- WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS?
Honestly, right now I’m not so sure. Of course I hope I will get the chance to experience as much as possible and meet many amazing people!

I’d like to leave something behind in the fashion world that will be remembered and make a difference.

6- WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNERS?
The upcoming designers Domenico Cioffi and Peet Dullaert are fantastic! Their creations are totally different and I love them equally. Spijkers&Spijkers (SIS) have also designed beautiful collections and I’m so happy I got the chance to walk for them a couple of times. A famous brand I’d love to fill my closet with is Isabel Marant. Stunning clothes and very flattering on a woman. Love them!

7 - WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT AMSTERDAM FASHION?
I think Amsterdam Fashion Week is really cool because everybody has their own style. That’s great because at least you don’t get too see too many clones around. I like the fact that in the local fashion scene, people wear what they like, whether it’s trendy or not. I really appreciate that. Everyone should dress in a way that makes them feel good - and not according to what others expect.

8- WHO ARE SOME MODELS THAT INSPIRED YOU?
I absolutely heart Cara Delevigne, as well as a totally different type of model - Doutzen Kroes. It might sound cliché but they’re both amazing! To me they both come across as having a nice, sweet personality. I’d love to meet one of them - or even better both of them someday!

9- WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR ANY GIRLS WHO WANT TO GET INTO MODELING?
Oh I got tons of advice to give ;-) But really it’s so important that you stay true to yourself and don’t change your personality. That’s the only way you can get far and make it in fashion. Of course you need to be realistic but if you honestly think modeling - and the fashion scene - are what makes you happy, then you NEVER ever have to give up. There’s always a way if you really want to. Trust yourself.

10- HOW DO YOU STAY IN SHAPE - TIPS ON HEALTH, BODY AS WELL AS SKIN CARE?
To be honest I don’t do much to stay in shape. Lately I’ve noticed I really need to keep an eye on my body, so I’ve started paying more and paying attention to what I eat. I attend specific gym sessions with my mom, try my best to eat healthy and drink gallons of water. Eating well is not only important for your body but also for your skin. As a model, you have to keep in mind that you have to look good all the time.

11- IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE US TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS GO AHEAD!
My wish is to stay healthy in the long term and enjoy all the most significant moments of my life. Leave a mark that will not be forgotten… and it’s important to live your life to the fullest!
